Stucco

Stucco

Stucco is a construction product made of a cement mixture used as an exterior siding. It is a concrete, lime and water mix that is either sprayed on or troweled on by hand. It is very hard and durable and a color addative can be mixed into the stucco for a beautiful finish.

Stucco is usually applied over wooden walls that are covered with tar paper and chicken wire or galvanized metal screening. Stucco is usually applied in either two or three coats depending on the final application.

Stucco is very common and has been used by the anchient Greeks and Romans to achieve a fine plaster surface for thier master works.

There are other materials that resemble stucco but may not be as durable. Stucco is porous and will absorb moisture, yet dries easilly.
