Toilet Installation

Toilet Installation

Weather you are installing a new toilet or replacing an old one, a bit of patience is required. Toilets are made of porcelin and are a bit delicate so be very careful when installing one.

The basic installation is the same for a new toilet and an existing replace emt. With a toilet installation make sure you size the toilet accoring to the space and rough in specifications in order to achieve a proper fit.

Step 1.

Unpack your new toilet and turn upside down on a drop cloth or padded material to avoid chipping or cracking your toilet.

Step 2.

Place the wax ring with the plasic flange faxing up. Apply slieght pressure so the wax sticks to the bottom of the toilet. Make sure the wax ring is aligned with the hole to ensure proper flow.

Step 3.

Install your toilet bolts in the floor flange and position them to accept the toilet base.

Step 4.

Turn over your toilet and set the wax ring over your floor flange. Align bolts so they go through the bottom of the toilet bolt holes.

Step 5.

Press down on your toilet until it rests flush on the floor. Install the plastic bolt cover washer and metal washer and srew the nuts onto the bolts. Evenly tighten the bolts so they are snug to fit. Do not overtighten or your bolts may rip out of the floor flange.
