There seems to be a few big players in the home improvement Business and the obvious two are Lowes and Home Depot.

They both cater to the contractor and do-it yourself homeowner and handyman. They both carry a full selection of building materials and supplies from all major manufacturers.

Lowes seems to me to cater a little more towards do-it yourself homeowners while home depot seems to cater more towards building professionals.

In this world of giant corporations and bottom lines, both companies seem to be in the number one and two positions in the industry respectively.

Both Lowes and Home depot have design professionals that can help you tackle just about any home improvement project you can think of. They can also special order supplies and materials for that custom home improvement project.
