Unmixed Joint Compound

Unmixed joint compound is used generally by professionals who need a quick drying product with added strength. Joint compound comes in different grades based on drying time. There are 20 minute sets, 45 minute sets and 90 minute sets depending on the time scope and scale of the job.

It takes considerably more skill with these types of mixtures as they often dry very quickly and can make sanding more difficult the longer they set.
