Drywall Corner Bead

Drywall Corner Bead

Installing corner bead or any other type of corner finishing product is very easy. You must first make sure that your drywall is plumb and square so that you get a straight corner. Next you measure your corner bead. Normally a metal corner bead is used for most applications and is pretty much the standard.

Next you place your corner bead on your corner and then attach it using drywall screws. Make sure to start at one ond of your corner and work your way to the other end of the drywall. Make sure that you get an even application. Your drywall screws must be set below the corner bead so that they can be covered properly by the joint compound.

The above image shows the drywall corner bead covered with a finished coat of drywall joint compound. We used 3 coats of joint compound which is standard and generally gives you the best finish. There are other quick setting compounds available but require more skill as they dry faster and may be a bit harder to sand.
