Latex caulk or painters caulk is used mainly for home improvement projects like painting or trim works. Caulk is a pliable substance used to fill in seems or cracks in walls, trim, molding and other surfaces.

Normally caulk is applied using a caulking gun or a hand held tube. The cauling gun is a very effective way to apply caulk over large areas with minimal effort. Once the caulk is applied it is smoothed out by hand or some small caulking tool.
